AP Capstone Program
St. Augustine Preparatory School’s commitment to strengthening students’ higher thinking, research, and exploration skills led it to apply to become an AP Capstone School. In 2018, the College Board selected St. Augustine to be one of the first schools in Latin America to implement the program.
The AP Capstone Program enables students to develop research, collaboration, and communication skills while studying topics that interest them.
Since its implementation, 50 St. Augustine students have successfully completed the AP Capstone Program.

AP Capstone Courses
AP Seminar: Students learn to consider an issue from multiple perspectives, identify credible sources, evaluate strengths and weaknesses of arguments, and make logical, evidence-based recommendations

AP Research: Students explore various research methods and complete an original independent research project of their choosing.
Students who successfully complete both courses receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. Students who earn the certificate and pass four additional AP exams will receive the AP Capstone Diploma.
